**My Review** Embracing Death
I thought Feeling Death was amazing but Embracing Death by D.T. Dyllin was out of this world amazing. As with the Gates Trilogy the author is able to weave a complex story into an entertaining thrill ride. There are twists and turns, good guys vs bad guys and just enough sex to turn you on and keep you turning the page.
In this book Sam is at a crossroads and the choices she makes or doesn’t make impacts not only her life but the lives of those she loves. I loved that the author makes you think you know what is going on in this story but the curveballs keep coming! I love Sam’s complexity, Austin’s sexiness and Nixon’s persistence – read the story and you will find out what I mean.
D.T. Dyllin is by far, one of my favorite authors this year. Her style of writing really makes for a great reading experience. I can’t explain it well but every page has a different feel to – you get a myriad of themes & emotions throughout the book. There is a little of a cliffhanger in this book which I’m pretty sure means that book 3 is in the works. Right?
Samantha Bevans is having the best sex of her life, but not with her husband. As an empath who senses other people’s emotions, isn’t her affair all in her mind? Her connection to the man with the the chiseled face and haunting eyes seems so real. But there’s no time for fantasies when a serial killer loose in Pittsburgh begins targeting dancers at a strip club where Samantha used to tend bar, back when drugs were the only cure for the torment brought on by her abilities. Now a member of a special task force, Samantha uses her talents to help with the investigation by sensing the victims’ final thoughts. Just when she thought the case was complex enough, she discovers one of the victims was thinking about her fantasy man when she died. Readers will yearn for more in this spine-tingling ride through death, blood, murder, mystery, and passion, as Samantha questions who she can trust when she can’t trust her own mind. After all, an empath feels the emotional environment around her . . . and Samantha is surrounded by death.
**My Review**Feeling Death
An Empath is a person with the paranormal ability to apprehend the mental or emotional state of another individual. In Feeling Death by D.T. Dyllin we are introduced to Samantha Bevans, an empath, who can sense the last moments of a person’s life. This special ability makes her both an asset and a target especially when there is a sadistic murderer on the loose. Not to mention that this type of power is like a drug – addictive & powerful. Not only can she sense what happens in death but in life as well. Married to the man of her dreams, or so she thought, she finds herself erotically drawn to a man she’s never met but lusts after in her mind.
D.T. Dyllin has done it again!! This is one book that I couldn’t put down for a second and when I absolutely had to I kept thinking about the deliciously complex characters and kick a** mind warping plot. If you like to “think” when you read and love mystery, passion, and a bit of the paranormal then this book is a must read!! I cant wait to be sucked into Sam, Austin & Nixon’s world in Book 2 – Embracing Death!
